    Because of a change in your permalink structure, some of your SEO data needs to be reprocessed.

    We estimate this will take a couple of minutes.

    This is a programming error on your behalf…nothing has changed on the site.

    @richardb We’re sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue on your site.

    Can you please confirm you are using the most recent version of Yoast SEO, version 16.2? You can learn more about updating here: https://yoast.com/help/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/

    Also, can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.7? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider. Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast. This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/

    I used to like Yoast but I haven;t seen anything new that adds value in a long time. This nearly sums up what I feel…It’s in your words. It’s not that Yoast doesn’t work it’s just the bugs outway the added value. I’m in the 3rd camp.

    We understand you want to keep using a plugin if you like it. But we feel you only have three options here:

        contact that plugin developer and ask them to fix it;
        contact another developer and pay them to fix it;
        drop the plugin and search for an alternative.

    Hi @richardb

    In v14.0 of Yoast SEO, we released a new feature called the indexables, which basically runs a process and stores data in your database, which the Yoast SEO plugin uses to generate relevant data, instead of having to query it every time, which can result in performance gains for your website.

    Sometimes, when there are changes made on the website (such as an intended permalink structure change, installing another plugin that could modify the permalinks, moving from staging to production, HTTP to HTTPS, etc.), we make the request to re-run the indexables and SEO data optimization process to ensure that all of the data being stored is correct. This isn’t necessarily a bug, but of course, we understand that it definitely is concerning to receive this message, when you haven’t made any noticeable changes. Unfortunately, it would require further investigation, which we are unable to do so on these forums.

    Please do note that if you do run the SEO data optimization again, it won’t break anything on your website, but rather update the information of the indexables data in your database tables.

    We understand your feedback that you haven’t seen anything new that adds value to your website. While we try our best to introduce new features from time to time, we also do appreciate requests and submissions from the community for bug reports and feature requests in order to make our plugins better – https://yoast.com/help/how-to-write-a-good-bug-report/
