Permalink structure for best SEO

    HI.

    I’m just setting up a new wordpress site that will be a video portal.
    I was thinking of setting up the permalink structure to
    category / post name vs the usual date / post name,
    as i am thinking that would be better for SEO
    however i have read that using this format isn’t good for SEO – is there any truth to that?

    Are there any guidelines on how to setup permalink structure that will give you the beset SEO?

    Not in all cases, but if the category name is one of the words in your post name, the URL will show a repetition of words which is not so good. However, there is no out-of-the-box answer for what is good for the best SEO. You can find better answers in SEO forums.
