Permalinks and sitemap

Pretty permalinks are a bit better for SEO than are default permalinks, which is why many SEO types use them.

XML sitemaps are really not needed for WordPress since it already does a great job at linking to all of your content. An XML sitemap will not help your content be indexed faster nor will it increase the number of your pages that are indexed in search engines. Sitemaps are most useful for sites with orphaned pages (those with no links to them) or pages that are only accessed through forms.
