The permalinks on my blog break when I Activate the Security mode for the .htaccess file. I have to put it into default mode for them to work again. Some of this is over my head, but I’ve verified that this is the problem.

Is there a way to copy the current .htaccess file (with my custom permalinks) into a security mode? Thanks for any help! I’m kinda lost here

WordPress Permalinks rewriting occurs internally in WordPress php code/files. The default/standard WordPress .htaccess file helps/assists with that internal rewriting. There is no such thing as custom permalink .htaccess code. So logically what I assume is happening is 1 or both of these very common problems below is causing the issue/problem. Both of these issues/problems are solved by locking your root .htaccess file on the BPS htaccess File Editor page.
