Permalinks won’t work

    Just installed version 3.0 to brand new site. Site is on a shared hosted server running Windows 2008 and IIS7

    I switched on permalinks selecting day & name method. I saved settings and was instructed to create a web.config file and copy the code shown at the bottom of the page which I did and then I uploaded to the root directory of the server. I also put it in the wordpress folder as well.

    When I click on a post title I get an 404 error. Did I miss a step in setting this up?
