I have some custom user roles and need to give them permission to upload from the back-end. I keep getting this message when someone with the new user role created:

You do not have sufficient permissions to access this admin page.

Reason: The current user doesn’t have the extra capability “administrator” that is required to access the “Memphis Docs” menu item.

what capabilities are you giving the new users. The only cap they need is “Allow to Upload”

Make suer that is the only permission checked.

They can do it on the front-end but they can no longer get to the back-end Memphis Documents to do an upload. I’ve got both of these checked for the user on the settings page for your plugin.

    Allow to Upload
    Allow to Upload Frontend

where is this error message being displayed.

for one thing mDocs does NOT require a user to have the cap “administrator” to upload a file.

second, the cap “administator” does not even exist in WordPress or mDocs have you been altering your roles and caps with another plugin?

I’m using the plugin User Role Editor, was using White Label Branding. Can I send you log in credentials to take a look at?

I would perf not to, its a risk I don’t really want to take.

I would take a look at the User Role Editor plugin and see if there is a cap called “administrator” and figure out why it is there.
