Error: Your Google account does not have sufficient permissions for this Analytics account, so you won’t be able to see stats from it on the Site Kit dashboard. This service was originally connected by an administrator — you can contact them for more information.

The admin account on WordPress is actually a collaborative group mailbox on gsuite. When trying to add this email to the analytics it fails as I guess it detects it isn’t a real email. How can I get around this?

    Hi there @spicebmg,

Thanks for reaching out, and sharing details of the group mailbox on Google Workspace (G Suite). The administrator who initially connected the Google Analytics module would have to have access to Google Analytics if they used the shared Google Workspace email. For that reason it may be possible that another administrator used a non Google Workspace Google account to connect Google Analytics.

So we can provide you with suggestions please share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
    2. Can you confirm that there are multiple administrators for your site, and you’re not using a shared login?

Once we have the above we can determine if Site Kit was used to insert your Google Analytics snippet. If so, and if you’re happy to change the connected property, you can disconnect the Google Analytics module and connect once more, to a Google Analytics account and property which you have access to. You can then grant access to others.

The admin account on the wordpress is a shared google groups email.

The Google Analytics property is connected to my G Suite email.

My email is not connected to the wordpress (Typically I don’t use my email for wordpress admin as I prefer all the emails to be centralized within the group email.)

I tried adding the groups email to the analytics property but it won’t allow a non user account to be added.

Thanks for the update on this. Unfortunately we didn’t receive your Site Health information, so I can’t check your site setup at present, or determine if there are multiple users connected.

I tried adding the groups email to the analytics property but it won’t allow a non user account to be added.

I’ve checked this and it does state that “Users are identified by their email addresses. You can add only users whose email addresses are registered in Google accounts.

In order to resolve this and ensure you can view Analytics data I need to know more on the existing Google Analytics snippet on your site and any other possible administrators who may have set up Site Kit. You can share your Site Health information for me to view your environment and Site Kit setup. The existing snippet may have been added via another WordPress administrator, who is not using a Google Groups email. The registered email for a WordPress administrator in their user settings may differ from the Google account email they may have used to set up Site Kit.

If you prefer you can also reset Site Kit to resolve this. This will disconnect all previously connected modules, and any other administrators who may have set up the plugin will need to do so once more. A site reset will allow you to connect the Google Analytics once more. You will be able to choose your own preferred Google Analytics account which you do have access to, from a non Google Group email. You can, however, share access to that property with any other non Google Group email members.

Once we receive your Site Health information I can advise on this further, or if you’ve attempted a site reset let me know how it went.
