    Hi,

Your plugin is showing up twice in my dashboard. Version 4.5.1 and version 5.0.10. The version 4.5.1 is requiring an update to 5.0.10. Of course, when I update, I get the perpetual update notification because you have a file (UPCP_Main.php) that has a version number of 4.5.1 and therefore, never gets updated to the version being requested.

Both the “ultimate-product-catalogue.php” and “UPCP_Main.php” are using “Plugin Name: Ultimate Product Catalog – WordPress Catalog Plugin”. Thus you have created two plugins within the same directory. Both plugins are named the same. And one of those plugins is constantly requiring an update to the latest version, that you never provide an updated version for.

The main plugin file, is updated.

Please fix your plugin so that it isn’t showing up twice.

Kinda gets annoying. Especially when one of them is perpetually requiring an update that never happens.

    Hi Ells and John,

I mentioned this in the sticky post. To elaborate: We were required to change the name of the main plugin file to match the plugin slug on WordPress. To make sure the plugin still re-activates automatically after the update, we’ve temporarily included the old UPCP_Main.php file. This is why, when the plugin is deactivated, you may see the duplicate entry on the Plugins screen (this will go away after the plugin is activated) and also why you might see an update still available even though you are on the latest version. I can assure you this has no effect at all on the updating process or the functionality of the plugin/your catalog. And it will be removed shortly, after the majority of people have had a chance to update to 5.0.

Then update the second file. It is annoying to have two plugins showing up and one of them never gets updated, constantly requiring an update. I don’t always have the plugin activated on all sites. When you include a second file you never update, it always shows up in the Network plugins as requiring an update if it isn’t network activated.

Have a little consideration for those of us who pay attention. Update the version in both files and then do your convolted process of converting over to WordPress standards. Please.

    Thank you for the update.
