Phantom / duplicate posts appearing

I’m having an odd problem that I can’t work out how to fix. I changed themes and it carried on so it’s not a theme problem.

Essentially I’m having phantom or duplicate posts appear regularly on my site. They are identical to posts already up except they don’t have pics and they are always in the news category no matter where I posted them originally.

I changed the name of the news category (to headlines) and I completely changed theme hoping this might magically solve the problem but no.

There are tow registered users on my site me (Jim Jepps) and admin and these posts are always posted as admin even though I’ve since turned admin into a subscriber so it should not be able to post at all.

I’m officially launching my site soon and I’d really like this problem sorted by then but have run out of ideas as to how to solve it. Don’t really want to spend my time deleting rogue posts on a site I’m othrwise quite pleased with.
