Phone Formet

Ok so I’ve been using CF& for years now, and I havent had too many problems with ever finding answers to my questions or figuring it out. This one I cannot however, since the latest update seems to be different from all others and I do not want to downgrade CF7 because I’m using it for multiple clients in different ways, on different websites and it just gets complicated trying to switch all of them – especially with upgrades always coming up.

I need a solution, the plugin CF7 Phone Module is not it, it simply doesn’t work with the latest version of CF7 and again I don’t want to downgrade.

I have the validation and everything set up EXACTLY how I want, except for how the telephone textbox is displayed. I have a placeholder shown inside as “(999)999-9999” when someone types inside that box, I want to be able to still have the parenthesis and hypen still show up between the numbers whether it be on direct typing or after numbers are typed in.

I’m using
[tel* your-phone placeholder "(999)999-999"]

I’ve tried mask, it deletes the text field, I’ve tried changing it from tel to text, but the problem with that is I only want numbers to be submitted through this box. I have no problem changing it to text or anything else, but upon submit it needs to be validated as a number only with those 3 special characters, ie ( ) ,.
