Phone number validation

Good afternoon,
I am looking for assistance with validating different variations of phone numbers for the Contact 7 plugin.
For example, the Connect Form works fine if telephone number as (214) 440-2370 or 2144402370, but not if they enter their phone number as 214-440-2370 or 214.440.2370. Is there any way to fix this?Thank you
