I’m running WPPA 7.3.06.003 with PHP 7.3 and have trouble counting photos/albums in WPPA+

    The shortcode reference says:

    type=”pcount” parent=”13″
Prints the total number of photos in all (grand)childalbums of album number 13.

So I added to my page [wppa type="pcount" parent="165"][/wppa]
(165 being the id of my “All” album, which contains 130 sub-albums and 5948 photos according to the Album admin page), only to get the message (in red atop my page):

[WPPA+ dbg msg: Error in shortcode spec for type="pcount": either attribute album="" or parent="" should supply a positive integer]

I tried single, double and no quotes with the same result, and “acount” also comes up with the same error message.

Ideally, I’d like to show the number of photos in the entire WPPA database to give my visitors an overview of what to expect.
Am I doing something wrong? or has a bug crept into a/pcount?

    Thanks,
    serge

It is a bug. Parent does not work here anymore. I will fix it in the next version.
    Thanx for the report.

Thanks, Jacob! That’ll help me show an up-to-date figure, it’s a bit of a bind to insert this manually.

While reporting bugs, allow me to misuse this thread and briefly point out that the years on the “Schedule” are also running out, they are currently set to 2014-2020.
Assuming that the schedule still works, perhaps you might want to tweak this to add a few more years? say 2020-2026?

    Cheers,

acount/pcount issue fixed in the current release version 7.3.06.008.

New topic, pls open new ticked otherwise it slips out of my attention.

If you mean the real calendar, the first displayable month is the month of the first photo in the system, be it upload, modified or exif.
The last displayable month is the current month, assuming that you can not upload photos with a future timestamp or upload photos to be taken in the future…

If different, pls open new thread.

The search word must appear anywhere, if you want the album to be found, enter it in the album description, or make it an album category.
In the last case tick Table IX-E4: include categories.

If you want a photo to be findable, enter it in the photo name, description or tag.
In the last case tick Table IX-E3: include tags.

Alternatively use the custom data fields, see this doc page

After changing any of the above, it may take a few minutes before it becomes effective, because of the background processes.

    OH.
I fear your last reply got into the wrong section, you probably meant to answer this sub: “WordPress search for photos?”

But yes, many thanks for fixing pcount, that works as it should now!
(and I’ll start a new thread re “schedule” to prevent it slippping out of your attention)

    Aha! Schedule for publishing???

    Thread Starter Serge

    (@serge-wp)

    Yep!

Sub “Album admin” tick box “Schedule”, the dates available are 2014-2020, maybe extend that to the future?
