    Dear All,

I am experiencing the following problem and hope someone can let me know how to address it.

As someone who doesn’t know anything about websites etc, I created a site using WordPress that is now also active. Now I receive a message from my host that I need to update the PHP version of my domain. However, when I do that, there are some pages on my site that no longer open. So I restored the PHP version. My host says they can’t change anything about this.

I hope someone can help me with this and let me know what to do.

    Greetings Arkin

    1) What PHP version did you upgrade to? Your site is currently running PHP/8.0.30.

    2) What’s the exact error message you’re seeing and on what page?

WordPress itself will work fine with new PHP versions 8.1, 8.2 and 8.3. But that’s WordPress: your theme and plugins may or may not be compatible.

We need more details about what PHP version and what specific problem(s) you’re seeing before we can offer any assistance.

(I’m also surprised that your host is forcing you to upgrade from PHP/8.0 — but that’s a different conversation that doesn’t belong here.)

    Dear George,

    Thank you for your response.
I had to update from 8.0 to 8.1, for example, because 8.0 is no longer a free version.
I was a bit hesitant to update all the plugins (even the ones I don’t actively use). But now after your advice I have updated everything and all pages work as they should. Glad you helped me with this.
I hope things continue to go well.
