Hi, I absolutely love your plugin, but ever since I update to php 7.4 autoptimize doesn’t work anymore, it just removes all CSS from my entire website 🙁

I don’t have the plugin active currently, so I’m not sure if it’s of any help to link my website, but I have done it anyways.

Have you heard of that happening before?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Doesn’t help, I haven’t made any special server configurations the text mentions though (Sometimes Autoptimized JS/ CSS is referenced in cached HTML but is already removed, resulting in broken sites. With this option on, Autoptimize will try to redirect those not-found files to “fallback”-versions, keeping the page/ site somewhat intact. In some cases this will require extra web-server level configuration to ensure wp-content/autoptimize_404_handler.php is set to handle 404’s in wp-content/cache/autoptimize.)

OK, so no help from “404 fallback” :-/

What is weird is that is works for some AO files, but not for the main one. What happens if you untick “aggregate CSS”?

It gives a 404 if I disable that as well, the weirdest part is that JS works fine, Stackpath creates the minified autoptimize version & loads it just fine

If we somehow manage to get to the bottom of this, then I promise I’ll write a guide on using Stackpath and Autoptimize together!

What also is weird is that Stackpath would cache a 404 response ..

just worked on another site (issue with the critical CSS) which also uses Stackpath, all worked without a hitch. but yes, would be very interested in what’s going on there! if I were you I would escalate at stackpath’s, feel free to tell them I’ll be happy to assist any troubleshooting to get this fixed, they can always reach me at futtta-at-gmail-dot-com 🙂

@optimizingmatters after a long chat with their support I found the issue, it was a Stackpath setting that needed to be changed.

Thanks for helping & responding so fast.

I’ll write a small guide with my settings & so on for other users, I’ll make sure to link it here when it’s done so you confirm if you want anything changed 🙂

Thank you so much, you’re an amazing human being!

wow, that’s great news! may I be so curious as to ask what setting that was, or are you keeping that for your guide? 🙂

@optimizingmatters Great question, in the end the CSS worked but images wouldn’t load on certain browsers, yikes 🙁

Taking a break for today, I’ll continue looking into it tomorrow & let you know what I figure out
