• Hi,

I’ve noticed a PHP Deprecated warning while using BackWPup 5.6.5 on PHP 8.4.

Error log entry: PHP Deprecated: WPMedia\BackWPup\Common\ErrorSignals\ErrorSignalsSubscriber::on_error_signal(): Implicitly marking parameter $job as nullable is deprecated, the explicit nullable type must be used instead in /…/backwpup/src/Common/ErrorSignals/ErrorSignalsSubscriber.php on line 46

Could you please update the codebase to ensure compatibility with PHP 8.4?

    Best regards.

    Hi,

Thank you for reporting this and for sharing the details.

Yes, this is related to PHP 8.4. Since PHP 8.4 is quite new, some deprecation notices like this are expected as plugins adapt to the stricter checks introduced in this version. I’ve reported this internally so the team can review and address it in a future update.

In the meantime, this notice does not affect how BackWPUp works or how backups are created.

Thanks again for bringing this to our attention.
