After yesterday’s update, my entire site is down with this PHP error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘, expecting ‘)’ in /wp-content/plugins/advanced-responsive-video-embedder/public/functions-html-output.php on line 92

This is the second or third time an update for this plugin was pushed out with PHP errors thats taken down sites.

Sorry I accidentally used code that requires PHP 5.4 while ARVE officially only requires PHP 5.3 unless I am incorrect then this causes this issue.

You might want to see that your hosts updates this very outdated PHP versions to 7.x or at least 5.6 as WP itself recommends it and actually will require it soon this year. But even 5.6 is End of life already https://secure.php.net/supported-versions.php

Just pushed out a fix, sorry again.

PS: This did probably, thankfully only effect you since very few users are on such outdated versions.
