Guys – latest update crashed a couple of our older sites – up til this update all was working perfect (I keep all plugins up to date).

[14-Sep-2021 09:37:51 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function register_post_meta() in /home/SITEUSERNAME/public_html/wp-content/plugins/post-expirator/classes/Facade.class.php on line 248

    Sites are using:
    WordPress 4.7.21 running Sahifa theme.

All had been absolutely fine up until the latest update today...

    Hi @garydee1977

    Thanks for using Post Expirator.

You can use a plugin like this to go back to the previous version: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/wp-rollback/

We’ll do our best, but apologies in advance – the new versions can not be guaranteed to support WordPress 4.7.21.

Well we did roll the two sites back to v 2.4.4 – but now have had to completely remove the plugin as:

    – we got a security warning that version < 2.6 were vunerable…
    – obviously we cannot ungrade as you don’t support it.

Is there no way you guys can make the plugin work for versions 4.7.x etc??

Both clients really want and need this – we hope to update the website in the new year but just due to the theme being outdated, we cannot update WP til the latest versions without serious overhaul.

    Hoping you can help.

    Hi @garydee1977

Sorry, this won’t happen. Version 4 of WordPress is a security hazard by itself.
