• I cannot post the URL to the site because I am using Instant WordPress and it is not public access.

I am not able to access WordPress Dashboard it indicates:
Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.

Can someone kindly help me? I am new at this and don’t know what to do.

    Thank you.

  • I really don’t know specifically, but you’d need to move the database and the site files. See if the documentation for IWP has any info about how to move a site.

Okay, I will also see if Seamus can help me with moving the files.

I thank you so very much for your kind work.

Can you login to your phpMyAdmin (MySQL Admin) in your Instant WordPress installation? Do you have a saved copy of your database?

Krishna, thank you. This is what it says when I attempt to login:

    phpMyAdmin – Error

Cannot load mysql extension. Please check your PHP configuration. – Documentation

I have all the files and folder in Instant WordPress.

    1. When did you get the error – while trying to login to MySQL Admin?
    2. Do you have a backup of your database?

I got the error while trying to logiin into MySQL.

I do not have a backup that I made but even though I am not able to access the Web site I created, I have access to the files and folder.

Can you login to your WordPress admin?

    (@sjgarbutt)

Cannot login, it says that PHP installaing is missing MYSQL.

PHP installation is missing MYSQL (sorry)

Download a fresh copy of Instant WordPress and try to install it. Possibly it may solve your problem if it just rewrites the missing files – not sure though. If that does not help, though possibly you may lose your MySQL database, just delete Instant WordPress and reinstall it from a fresh downloaded copy.

You may always keep copies of your database so that in such cases you can always restore your site if anything goes wrong.

    Thank you.

One more note: If you can login to your WordPress dashboard (NOT My SQL Admin) you can use the export tool and download a copy of your database and use that copy to restore your work after reinstalling Instant WordPress.

    Krishna:

How do I login to WordPress dashboard? I am not able to get into the dashboard because of the PHP issue.

Then your only option is to reinstall Instant WordPress.

Thank you very much for your kind help.

I spoke with the developer who said that MySQL is not missing it is not running. So I must figure out why it is not running.
