• Hello!

I was updating the wordpress version on this site Inhalexhale.com and am no longer able to access the WP backend. Instead, I get this message

PHP Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, function ‘wp_site_icon’ not found or invalid function name in G:\PleskVhosts\inhalexhale.life\httpdocs\wp-includes\plugin.php on line 496

I’ve called GoDaddy, and they’ve said I’m on my own because they don’t know how to fix the problem. They did tell me, however, that this domain is on a Windows server and not a Linux server. Because I don’t have any backups for this site, GoDaddy suggested that I reinstall wordpress on a subdomain and carry over the wp-config doc.

Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this problem? Please let me know if I’m lacking crucial scenario details, as this is my first post 🙂

  • Before doing all that… I suggest doing a manual WP update.
    1) Download the latest version of WordPress to your local machine.
    2) Unzip it.
    3) Using FTP or your server’s control panel, upload the new WordPress files and replace the old ones on the server **except** the ‘wp-config.php’ file and the ‘wp-content’ folder.
    4) Test to see if your site works.

Possibly the automated WordPress update failed (it can happen although rarely) so doing this manual update might fix the issue.

If not, report back and we’ll try some other troubleshooting steps.
