we tried this plugin with PHP8 locally and it’s working really good.
We need more info about the error from you.
Would you turn on debug mode on your wordpress? and can share what exact error you are seeing there?

I have disabled the plugin and now it works. I can set my PHP version lower and then it does work as well. But I would prefer a higher PHP version.
