I’m getting the exact same date error as you. have you managed to fix it?
I have exactly the same error since some weeks.
With twenty-eleven template also the names are wrong !!!
All the pictures uploaded have the same name and the same date.
I have not found how to fix it π
Regards
Same thing here – just uploaded 102 photos all showing a date of Jan 01 1970. Any ideas of how to fix this?
Joining the club.
Same issues, recently added full exif files and all show up 1970.
Strange enough that some older files show 1970 as well and some more recent ones (full meta data /exif) are fine….
I have also the same problem on several websites with NextGen 1.9.12…
…at the moment as fast fix I used old meta.php and imported Metadata (only for bad pictures) – it worked for me.
Just a note that we’re pushing out a fix for this this morning. Once you’ve updated, please feel free to confirm that it’s resolved.
Will it restore the data or do we need to “somehow” re-import?
It would be helpful, if there will be a one-off fix script or so.
thanks
Shonu – You can go to any gallery, select the images, and then from the drop down select “Import Meta” and click Apply. It will re-import meta data (including the appropriate date).
This update is now released. I just tested the meta data import again on my personal instance and it does correct the dates for the images.
Our apologies for the delay in getting this fix out. We’d been planning to fix is with our 2.0 release, but that’s been taking longer to get out than expected.
By the way, on the assumption this update works as expected, I’m marking this as resolved. I’ll change status if needed.
Import fixes the issue, but having 1970 items widely spread and now me needing to find them all…..
1. Can’t we use the search – NO at the moment. Search is not searching timestamp field
2. Can we sort after date – NO at the moment
I guess I need to do this on a on-demand basis then
Thanks for the fix anyhow
Shonu –
This problem should have been consistent for any galleries created using 1.9.12, the latest version before this update. So you can safely assume that any gallery created in the last few months has this issue. I recognize it’s a pain to have to fix at all, but if you want to resolve it, I’d just open and reimport meta data on all recent galleries.
