    Hi,

Pinterest sharing doesn’t work. When I click on the pinterest button the pinterest sharing window pops up but it only displays a grey square in the left upper corner instead of any image. When I click save Pinterest gives this error:
You need to upload an image or provide the ‘image_url’ parameter

Website owners can use pinterest markup to mark their images for pinterest like data-pin-description=”” or data-pin-id=”” It would be nice if the plugin could pick those up too once it works of course.

    Thanks!

    Hello there @yondermann

Is this happening on a specific page?
Cause I tried from the homepage and a couple of random pages and after login in Pinterest, it seems to be working well.
    Please advise!

    Thank you,
    Dimitris

For me it’s happening or rather not happening on all the pages. https://www.dropbox.com/s/pz4fv90xtzbdhua/pinterest%20problem.png?dl=0

Hi I am also having this issue on one of my client’s blogs: https://herseasoul.misite.co/why-i-love-the-aquatic-lifestyle-crying-kids-shivering-and-the-long-hours-are-worth-it/

The featured image is set, which I would think is what gets pulled for the Pinterest share?

Thank you in advance for your help.

I can confirm that it’s happening on that site too. I can only see the same grey placeholder instead of an image.

The featured image is set for me too but I definitely don’t want that to be shared on pinterest. Images that are not in pinterest format get almost zero attention.

    Hi @yondermann @likebuttonsoftware

I have also tested it and could confirm on your sites and my own. It seems also that it does work “sometimes” (which might actually be related also to browser) but the good news is that our developers are already aware of it.

From what I can see the fix is already pushed to be included in core and if it passes all the tests it should be released soon, in one of nearest upcoming releases.

    Kind regards,
    Adam

I haven’t had a chance to test in on Chrome yet as Pinterest requires to be signed in and I use firefox. So it may well be that it works on chrome but not on firefox.

Thanks for getting back to us with the info Adam! We’ll wait for the update and report back!

    Thanks!
