• Hi Instant Image Team,

    Two issues really.

    1. Your plugin is flagging that its not compatible with the latest version of WordPress. Might just be a simple version control change etc

    2. Pixabay is flagging up that I have used my quota when using my own API. I have only used a few images from this plugin in the past few weeks so not sure why this is happening. They ref this on their usage policy “By default, you can make up to 100 requests per 60 seconds.” I have done about 10 searches in two weeks for Pixabay and used 2 images from it.

    Why would this be happening?
    Is your plugin making request loops even though the user (me) is not making requests?
    Has my API key been abused somehow? (I cannot imagine this is the case as my site is behind a secured login and has firewall rules in place to lock down access to the back end). This would also effect other API I use on your plugin if abused.

    Plugin tip:

    Would it be sensible to hide the API keys on your plugin? At the moment they are exposed when going into your plugin settings. Surely showing the last four digits/letters would be better and the rest with ****. Just a thought.

    I need to know why my limit is reached when I have only used a few images in a few weeks. I can only assume its based on search results and not usage. Then again as per their documentation “5,000 requests per hour is the limit”, so this might not be the case.

    Any help on this is much appreciated.

    Sometimes the API returns an error that is flags as an API limit, but it may have been another issue. Hopefully it resolved itself.

    I suppose I could hide the API keys, not really sensitive data though. I’ll consider it.
