Hi! First time using this plugin, but have used The Smash Balloon Insta plugin many times πŸ™‚

I have successfully connected our YouTube Channel, but what I’m really wanting to do is display a Playlist. I have followed the instructions on how to get Playlist ID, but I’m getting this error message: https://pasteboard.co/xCBm9htX46IT.png

This is the Playlist I’m hoping to use https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLm_D-MI7bfJxm8fFmQtfN-uQHNygEov0M and I have this code entered in the Playlist ID field PLm_D-MI7bfJxm8fFmQtfN-uQHNygEov0M

Any advice would be greatly appreciated πŸ™‚

    Hi @melanie71,

Thank you for contacting us for help with the “No videos found error” on your website”. I tested the Playlist ID on my own setup, and it displays without issues. Screenshot: https://a.supportally.com/i/HXney5

Please check that the correct feed type was set and there are no extra characters in your playlist ID field. To do this, open the feed customizer and go to the Settings Tab > Feed Type. Once you’re done, click Save. Screencast: https://a.supportally.com/v/RIdl2R

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Hi Nigel

Thanks for your reply! I’ve tested on another site and still have the same issue – I definitely have the correct feed type and no extra characters in the Playlist ID. I can only assume it’s an issue with the API key – how do I test if that is correct? I went through your steps to create the API key, but perhaps I’ve missed something …

    Regards

    Hi @melanie71,

A quick way to test the API key is to use the following test link

    https://www.googleapis.com/youtube/v3/search?part=snippet&q=YouTube+Data+API&type=video&key=APIKEY

replace the text “APIKEY” at the end with your own API key. when you test the URL, it shouldn’t give any errors. Be sure to temporarily disable any restrictions in Google Cloud console before performing the test.

If the API key is working, you’ll get something similar to the screenshot: https://a.supportally.com/i/o33ptA. Otherwise you might get an error message.

If you need further assistance, please submit a support request via the form on our website, https://smashballoon.com/support/, and include the System Info.

To obtain this information, please follow the steps on this page: https://smashballoon.com/doc/how-to-get-system-info. We ask you to use our form, as the System Info contains other website information from your site, which we do not suggest posting here.

Thanks Nigel! I’ve tested as you’ve suggested and all seems to be working as it should. So I have no idea what’s going on with the Playlist …

I will submit a support ticket and hopefully you can help me get to the bottom of it πŸ™‚

    Regards

    Melanie
