• Can you please add Blocks for the “Main Bible Passage” and ALL of the Sermon Files i.e “Location of Mp3”, “Video Embed Code”, “Video Link” etc.

This plugin is useless if we want to use any of the new themes that use the Site Editor, like Twenty Twenty-three.

    Hi @hikinmike
I’m feeling a bit confused about the requirements. Could you please provide more detailed explanations or clarify the specific aspects? Your additional insights would be greatly appreciated.

I’ll try. In order to use any of the new WP Full Site Editor themes you first have to enable “Theme Compatibility” so the Sermon Archive, Single Item Sermon etc have the same look (Header, Footer etc) like the rest of the site, which is fine. Problem is, if you have the ‘Display > Archive > Display Audio Player’ and ‘Display Attachments’ checked, those are removed if you use the Theme Compatibility.

A user can create their own Sermon Archive Template and add Blocks as I see we can add ‘Speakers’, ‘Series’, ‘Topics’, ‘Bible books’, and ‘Service Types’.

I’m asking if you can at least add the ‘Main Bible Passage’ on the Sermon Details section, because we use it. We don’t display the attachments like Notes, Bulletin or Audio on the Archive page.

Currently we use Astra, but we may switch to a FSE theme some day if you added more Blocks as mentioned.

    Hope this all makes sense.

    Hi @hikinmike

As I understand, you need an extra block whose name is “Main Bible Passage” which is similar to the “Description” block and the type of this block is “wsyg editor” so that you can write a message or any content. The position of this block is just below the “Description” block in the backend. In the front end, the position of the “Main Bible” block text is also just below the “Description of Sermon” and above the documents section.
Also if the position of this block, wants to change then please also suggest it to me.

If my understanding is wrong then please correct me. Your additional insights would be greatly appreciated. Waiting for your response. Tomorrow I will release a new version. If I am ok then I will create this block and release it in this version also.

Sorry I wasn’t more clear. Having a minor stroke in 2007, communication/comprehension isn’t my strong point.

In the process of testing Twenty Twenty-three (I was bored one day) on our test site, I tried creating a custom archive-wpfc_sermon page. If you don’t enable the “Theme Compatibility” the header/footer don’t match the theme, but it does display all of the content we use from Sermon Manager. I also don’t like the way the default Sermon Manager’s archive-wpfc_sermon looks. Enabling “Theme Compatibility” shows the theme’s header/footer correctly, but the only Sermon Manager content displays is the theme image, date and the description. We also add the “Main Bible Passage” and use the “Video Embed Code” as well.

You (Sermon Manager) added a few blocks in the past like ‘Speakers’, ‘Series’, ‘Topics’, ‘Bible books’, and ‘Service Types’. Those work as we use some of those. I’m just asking to add a ‘Main Bible Passage’ and ‘Video Embed Code’ block so a user can create a custom archive-wpfc_sermon on any FSE theme.

Currently we are using the free version of Astra (https://faithcommunitybible.org/), so we currently don’t need that, but we may switch over to a WordPress theme in the future.

    Hope this all makes sense.
