• Hi,

I can no longer display my site. It only shows:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ECHO in /home/content/l/e/e/leeloo1/html/wp-content/themes/comicpress-gn/index.php on line 4

Now when I go to my index.php here are the first lines:

[Code moderated. Please do not post hack code blocks in the forums. Please use the pastebin]

    Is there an error here?
Thank you in advance for any help!

    Thank you for your help!

    Hi,

Please,I need help. I’m using the Press-work free theme, just started building up my site. When I write my posts and place pictures, the pictures do not show and only a section of the post text shows even without me inserting the ‘more’ thingy.

I decided to edit to my posts and click on ‘images’ instead of standard (this is at the side bar of new or edit posts) to see if my images would be visible. This is what I got in reply :

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache Server at weightlossconfidence.com Port 80

What do I do? Is this a WordPress problem or is it from the theme or is it from my server?

I look forward to your response.

    Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

Thank you so much for your swift response but err…, I’m a total newbie with this web building with WordPress stuff. First:

    1. Where do I find wp-content/themes?
    2. This FTP thing, does that mean I have to get into my c-panel with my host? I use hostgator.
    3. I’m totally lost and don’t know what you mean by phpMyAdmin and don’t know where to find it.
4.I know how to download WP afresh from my host site, I have to remove the site/cancel it and re-upload, right? I don’t know how I’m suppose to separate the wp-content folder.

Please be patient with me cause, I’m a total, complete, newbie, green horn etcetera in this web building stuff.

    Thanks

    1. In the folder that you installed WordPress into on your domain.
    2. If you do not use FTP, then yes – try using cPanel’s File Manager instead.
    3. Your hosts will be able to help you with access to Phpmyadmin or similar. Please see the page at the link I posted above.
    4. No. Just download WordPress, unpack the archive and re-upload everything to your site except the wp-content folder.
