    Hello,
A few hours ago, I had to restore an earlier version of my site, on which I had not yet installed W3 Total Cache.
Since then, I get the following message: “some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home3/sunnyath/public_html/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.”
I tried reinstalling and removing the plugin (I haven’t decided yet if I want to keep it), but the message keeps showing on.
I tried to find the mentioned file at wp-content, but I can’t locate it anywhere.
I also followed the directions found at https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/impossible-to-uninstall-completely/, but the problem remains.
    Can you please advise me?
I really appreciate any help you can provide.

    Hello @trapper13

Thank you for reaching out. I am sorry about the issue you are experiencing and I am happy to assist you with this.
The advanced-cache.php is a drop-in file that is created in the wp-content after enabling the Page Cache.
The instructions in the link you provided, when followed step by step, ensures that every file/ folder created by W3 Total Cache is removed.
You can also try and add the file manually to wp-content by downloading the plugin from here, unzip the file, and copy the advanced-cache.php from w3-total-cache/wp-content/ to
/home3/sunnyath/public_html/wp-content/ and see if the issue persists.
This error arises when you have installed two or more plugins to speed up your website so make sure you do not have more than one caching plugin installed. So if you completely removed the W3 total cache files there is a chance that you are using some other plugin that also drops it the advanced-cache.php
    I hope this helps!
    Thanks!
