That’s odd. The plugin has a WordPress compliant removal process (uninstall) and I can confirm that it is working. The uninstall removes all stored options from the plugin. In fact, just to be sure there hasn’t been something that crept in in a recent update, I tested in dev and uninstall ran with no issues, as expected. So the problem does not appear to be the plugin itself.
My question would be first, are you certain it is WP-Members? Sometimes people post in this forum ending up here from a different plugin. This is the plugin: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/wp-members/
Second, the uninstall process triggered by WordPress runs via JavaScript. If there is some other js error triggered on the WP plugin page, that could cause the uninstall process to not be run. That’s unfortunately something localized and external to this plugin. There would be ways around that, but it has nothing to do with the plugin itself.
I am having the same issue. I installed the plugin, set a few settings, then decided to use something else. Now when I try to delete the plugin (after deactivation), it seems to hang and won’t delete. There is a message at the top of the Plugins page that says “Deletion failed. There has been a critical error on this website…”. I don’t have debugging turned on, so I don’t have the actual error message.
