It’s been more than a year now since this plugin received an update and that starts to worry me with regards to WordPress compatibility. Is Barry still actively working on the plugin or not ?

I would also like to know if the plugin is still maintained by never5.

Things don’t look good. I’ve bought the optional email lock plugin back in february 2019 trusting that the author @barrykooij per his promise -in writing- would add a feature that I was looking for. He’d release that by the end of august 2019 but it never materialized. Up until that time communication was ok. I’ve been trying to contact him ever since and at the end of january 2020 he replied telling me that he could not give any timeframe for the feature but still planned to add it. As a matter of gesture he waived the subscription fee for a year. This added feature is one thing but the thing that starts to worry me more and more is that the core plugin hasn’t received any update for well over a year now. No compliance testing with recent WordPress versions either. Download Monitor is a great and unique plugin for which I see no alternative so I truly hope all is well with @barrykooij and that he comes forward right here to spell out what his plans are with the plugin. With 100.000+ installs I think that would just be a courtesy to both paid and non paid users. I contacted the contributors that are listed today. So far one of them @mikejolley replied, telling me that he hasn’t been involved in it for year’s now. Download Monitor from what I’ve learned after doing some research was not created by @barrykooij ; he continued the work on it after the original author abandoned it I believe. I truly hope all will work out real soon.

    Hey @clipper87 and @matthiaspabst ,

Download Monitor is still maintained and we (Never5) are still actively maintaining our plugins. I’ll make sure Download Monitor gets at least a meta update soon, so I update the “tested up to” etc.

Regarding your ticket @clipper87, this is regarding a feature for one of our extensions that is complex to create. Extra features for our extra optional paid extension are not a promise we make to our customers when they are sold. Because of both of these reasons, I can’t give you an ETA on this feature.

    So, to summarize:
    1. I’ll make sure the main/core plugin gets an update next week
    2. I’ll look agian into your feature request @clipper87 and will get back to you next week as well.

I hope this answers both of your questions, if not, please feel free to let me know.

    Kindest regards,

    Barry Kooija
