Plugin adding extra tags to shortcodes

    Hi. My theme has shortcodes that format some of the elements on my home page. They work fine, but as soon as I activate the plugin, I am getting empty p tags that break my layout. I have a function that deals with empty tags in shortcodes and I have used a filter to apply it to the_content and widget_text. Do I also need to apply it to some element of yop poll? Or can you think of any other reason for the behavior? Thanks.
