[Plugin: Admin Menu Editor] Cannot get Role settings to work

    I don’t get how this plugin works! I want my WP site to act as a CMS for a client ie, I want him to only access certain parts of the menus. For example, I don’t him to access the Appearance panel and options so that he has cannot change the theme etc. Or the Plugins panel, etc.

    So…

    1. I have created a new User as an ‘Editor’ type, called ‘admin01’

    2. In the Admin Menu Editor I change the role for ‘Appearance’ to Administrator.

    3. This works great because when I log in as the new Editor ‘admin01’ I CANNOT see the ‘Appearance’ panel and options.

    However… I do EXACTLY the same for the ‘Links’ panel and other panels and menu options, yet nothing happens! It doesn’t seem to work in the same way it did for the ‘Appearance’ panel?? Well, it doesn’t work at all for other menu panels!

    Is this a bug? Or am I doing something wrong?

    Some documentation would have been nice with this plugin…

    Hmmm how do you hide menu items for specific roles?? I wanted to disable ‘Posts’ for contributors but keep them visible to editors.

    I didn’t think it was possible though?

    I am using in cinjucnction wuth user role permission and that gives much more flexibility.
    Also, sometimes, checking / unchecking “custo” when changing the roles seems to change how it works…

    I’m getting the same issue. Can’t seem to get some menus to hide. It’s like the min role setting is ignored.

    The only way I can get this to work is to set min role for each of its submenus. Maybe this should be added automatically for submenus when the menu has this set.

    I can’t get to allow an Editor to access the themes.php page … even though I set the min role to editor

    Try user role permission plugin! It is much simplier and clear for permissions, and works well in conjunction with this one
