This plugin has totally corrupted my website. After installation the site became inaccessible, so I dropped the database tables and removed the files manually, then tried to reload. When I brought the site back up, my menu bar disappeared and all pages are now 404’ing because this plugin changed all of my permalinks.

After troubleshooting this problem for 30mins or so, I’ve finally submitted a ticket to my VPS host in a desperate attempt to restore the site from a previously working backup.

It’s possible my issue is due to human error, but I am an experienced wordpress user, and if I did make a mistake, then the plugin developer needs to seriously address his instructions, warnings and tooltips in the plugin UI.

I’ve never experienced a plugin install that’s been so invasive and corruptive. This thing is s**t.

  • am inexperienced too but have only installed recently and I cannot rave about it enough! use the awcp support forums rather then here. The only issue i had with it was if I renamed the pages that the plugin uses (which you are supposedly able to do) and it kills the site but easy enough even for me to fix using the existing posts at awcp forum

I’ll have a look at the awcp forums first – should I decide to revisit this plugin.

I was steaming mad when I posted my response here, and may have overreacted a bit, but sheesh… in nearly 4 years of using WP, I’ve never experimented with a plugin that had manipulated my site in the way awcp did.

I had same problems then I use this plugin on my site.
After I make the settings and press save:
(I only change the “name for classifieds page”.)

I get this errormessages then my site stop working.
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/mysite/public_html/wp-includes/post.php on line 3284

I try to change my plugin folders to old.plugins instead so the plugins should been deactivated but it don´t help me. very strange !

I ask my host company if they could help me and they did, they make a new database for me and backup my daily backup to the new database.
(they told me that my database was corrupt and they could not save it)

This has been resolved in 1.8.9.2.

Please don’t post your requests here in the future, I don’t get notified when they happen. Your best bet is to use the forum: http://forum.awpcp.com and I will answer there much more quickly!

As to the database corruption, it is savable and can be restored, but you need to read the forums on how to do it!
