  • Hi,

As just about everyone else has said – this is a great plug in. However I wondered if someone could give me a few pointers – I can’t get my install to show on IE7.

I’m using the stand alone player and it appears fine on my mac in Safari and FF3 but I just get the alternative text on IE7. I can see the install on the ‘Whats new’ page in IE7 so I know its something wrong with my install. I have uploaded the new player and js but it still doesn’t appear.

Could anyone point me in the right direction? Where should I be looking?

The site is still in development here: http://sacredretreat.3dpixelnet.com/

    Thank You.

Can anybody tell me how to use the loop option? Im having trouble getting it workng. Do you know the command and where the code is placed?

    Much appreciate anyones help.

Has anyone run to a problem with IE7?

I have the player set up and working in FF without a hitch (except for the known > 16 embeds issue, of course) but the player will not render in IE7 when browsing the same page. I just get the alternate content. Very odd; I’m not seeing any JS error or anything else that would indicate there is a problem. I have also been able to embed other flash players on the same page and browse them in IE7 without a problem.

Thanks for the hard work doryphores; the new version is fantastic.

Everything works fine, but IE7 shows me a script error…

“J.parentNode ist Null oder kein Objekt”

I think it’s because of this script here:
    <script type="text/javascript">AudioPlayer.setup("http://www.gregel.com/wp-content/plugins/audio-player/assets/player.swf?ver=20080711115322", {width:"290",animation:"yes",encode:"yes",initialvolume:"60",remaining:"no",noinfo:"no",buffer:"5",checkpolicy:"no",rtl:"no",bg:"f8f8f8",text:"666666",leftbg:"eeeeee",lefticon:"666666",volslider:"666666",voltrack:"FFFFFF",rightbg:"cccccc",rightbghover:"999999",righticon:"666666",righticonhover:"ffffff",track:"FFFFFF",loader:"9FFFB8",border:"666666",tracker:"DDDDDD",skip:"666666",pagebg:"FFFFFF",transparentpagebg:"yes"});</script>

When I disable the plugin, everything works fine…

I want to add to my last post that I get only the JS-Errormesasge, when I use this plugin AND the “viper video’s quicktag” plugin.

When I disable one of them, everything is fine… But really no idea which plguin makes the error now… πŸ™

    A quick note to all:

Sorry for not replying to the recent support requests. I have been away on holiday and quite busy with work and other more pleasant things.

I am rewriting some of the admin panel code because it was conflicting with a few other plugins.

I will eventually look at this thread in more detail when I have a more time on my hands.

Thanks for all your feedback and keep an eye on wpaudioplayer.com for updates.

I’m trying to use Audio-Player 2 beta but not with a lot of luck. Specifically I’m using RapidWeaver and trying to put the code into a blog entry. Here’s what’s odd: I can successfully use Audio-Player 1.2.3. In fact, I can somewhat successfully use Audio-Player 2 beta 5 using the old code for 1.2.3 (with appropriate adjustments). However, I can’t use Audio-Player 2 using the suggested code for the standalone version.

In the end, if I can get it to work well, I don’t care what specific code I’m using, BUT when using the 1.2.3 style code I can’t get the title or artist to show up. All I get is “Track 1”. For most of what I do, I don’t even need the track name. So I’m wondering a few things:

    1. how can I use 1.2.3 code but eliminate the “track 1” text so there is no text at all
    2. how can I adjust the 1.2.3 code so artist and title does show
    3. how can I tweak the 2 code so it works

Any help with this would be wonderful!

what about the JavaScript API? we really really need it πŸ™‚

    Hey,

Very excited to get this player working on my site. Having some trouble with the admin panel as suggested above. I believe its conflicting with other plugins. I think a namespaced version of mootools might fix this as mootools is notorious for js conflicts with wordpress. I am using many jquery scripts on my site so I don’t know how to address this issue. Thanks for the development so far. Any tips would be great.

    Hi,

Is there is a limit to the file size? I have generally been putting up 1 to 3 minutes of audio and today I put up a piece that was 8 minutes and it won’t play. It starts to buffer and it reaches the end of the buffering time and just does nothing.

    Please Help

    thanks.

I am currently also getting the Javascript error when trying to view the player in IE 7 and IE 8. Firefox works fine. Here’s the error:

Any ideas? Our site is running WordPress 2.6 and Audio Player 2.0b5. Thanks!

@ckpicker: I suspect the problem is caused by another flash element on the page using swfobject. That’s what causes it for me. If it helps, I’m glad you’re having the problems, as it shows it’s not just me πŸ˜‰ I have reported the error, but it’s not yet been able to be fixed.

(By the way, having visited your site to check to see if you were using swfobject – you are, in your theme – I think you might be interested in a plugin of mine which uses AudioPlayer: http://www.4-14.org.uk/sermon-browser. Apologies for the shameless plug!)

I’m using the latest WP audio player, standalone version (player.swf dated 7/11/2008). I find it does ‘not’ stop downloading on ‘pause’, as suggested in:

    http://wpaudioplayer.com/whatsnew

Is that the standalone player on the ‘whatsnew’ page, because it doesn’t seem to stop downloading on ‘pause’ either.

Can anyone confirm success with ‘pause’ stopping download? I’ve got 30 minute MP3 files I’d like to feed, and stopping download on ‘pause’ would really help performance.

I’m having a problem with displaying the flash player. In every browser I’ve tried it works fine, except in Firefox 3 on Vista 64bit (on my computer). Any ideas? The played is replaced with blank space.

    Hi,

I, like so many others, love your plugin. However, I checked a page today and noticed that the player isn’t showing up in my pages like before. I’m using Firefox 3.0.1, WordPress 2.5.1, and I’m a mac g4 user.

I tried upgrading to 2.0b5 but the problem persists.

Here’s a sample page where the player doesn’t show up: http://markmaxwell.org/song-a-week/freeway-80/

By the way, it’s showing up fine when I try it with Safari. Any clues?

    Thanks!
