Currently a standard style.css is used. This has !important tags in it.
When using the stlye.css in the template to overwrite these, it doesn’t work. Now I am editing the style.css in the plugin directory…

It would be nice to be able to disable the CSS in the settings of Placemarks.

Unfortunately the !important declarations are necessary in this case to prevent many poorly written themes from messing up the map with their broadly target styles.

Replacing the stylesheet is already described in the FAQ. Please check it before starting support threads.
