Plugin blocks editors from adding media to posts

    The plugin is blocking editors from adding media to posts. When editors try to view media library from a post, the library appears empty. When they go to the media tab from the left menu, they can see the whole library. When editors try to upload a media file while editing a post, it uploads. But when they click insert to post, the post appears with no media inserted. When I deactivate the plugin, these problems go away. When I activate the plugin, all these problems come back.

    I am also having a problem with Post-by-Email rejecting media, and I think it’s related to this plugin, but that will require more experimentation before I can confirm.

    Exact same problem here. It should only hide Jetpack and not interfere with core functionality.

    Even our editors are not able to see any image in the media modal, not even their own, which they just have uploaded. Just a huge blank “real estate”.

    If you change to
    add_action( 'admin_head', 'jp_rm_menu' );
    it will work without side effects.

    It seems ‘admin_init’ is too early to manipulate the menu without trouble.

    I couldn’t reproduce this bug. Has it been fixed since? (Running 3.5.2.)

    Plugin is not updated since January 2013. But anyone can patch it themselves, using the plugin editor or FTP based, and then hope it’s fixed in the next update.

    Note that this plugin does NOT make impossible for non-admins to access Jetpack. It just removes Jetpack from then menu, so it’s not visible. With the right page, held as a URL or bookmark, it’s still accessible.

    Same issue here. Uninstalled the plugin and went with Adminimize to get rid of the menu item.
