When you hover over an image in the visual editor, you see several alignment buttons. These do not work with the plugin enabled. When the buttons are clicked, the “alignleft”, “aligncenter”, and “alignright” classes are applied to the img element and not the figure element that this plugin creates.

If I click the pencil icon to open up the full media editor, I can successfully change the alignment using the dropdown menu option.

However, this is not intuitive for non-technical editors of my site.

How do I fix the alignment buttons that appear on hover?

I’ll have a look at it. Unfortunately, the API for integrating with images in the visual editor is not really documented, so this is something of a moving target. I’ve already been thinking about abandoning the shortcode altogether and simply filtering the HTML output to add the credit information.

@shermandy: I’ve just resumed working 3.2.0 and this should be fixed in the new release that will come in the next few days.
