    I had changed my permalink to something a little more complicated (like a long password) and the site went to 404. I deleted the plugin and now the permalink menu always redirects to homepage. Urgent help needed… Reinstalling WordPress doesn’t help!

    I’m marking it as resolved but I suggest you do some testing on your part.
    After some database optimization the permalink menu re-appeared, then I reinstalled the plugin (it took over 2 minutes to install) and that complicated password was just sitting in the “login URL”. I take the plugin doesn’t wipe out its data when uninstalled, but the major problem was that broken permalink redirect.

    ….I believe the login URL doesn’t accept certain characters, I know for sure it doesn’t accept the first letter as capital
