Hi
BPCP is aimed at developers extending BuddyPress to map wordpress’s custom post types to custom components on BuddyPress using a provided API and is more of a support plugin.
At the moment I don’t have any plans for providing a UI to carry out this mapping.
Thanks for the response.
From what you say I understand it is not something I can use. But if I hire a developer does it help him to create a front-end interface for the users to add or edit certain custom posts?
I am working on a BuddyPress site about books. I have several custom post types such as Books, Authors, Book reviews, and so on. I need people to write book reviews, and also I need users of certain “role” to be able to add books and authors without having access to the backend. Does this plugin help to do this?

Hi — Sorry I hadn’t noticed your post. And yes, BPCP is aimed at helping developers achieve something exactly along these lines.
I had in fact been planning to make a small “What are you reading right now” plugin for BP as an example for BPCP once I had iterated EventPress far enough.
Would you let me know about the plugin when you develop it?
I appreciate it.

Sure. Will take some time though; and it will be pretty simplistic.
