Hi, I never post on wp forums, as I try and resolve issues without troubling authors, but now I am really stuck and require some advice.

I love the concept of this plugin, its perfect for what I need (to have a catalogue of products with relative descriptions, and images. The only thing it is lacking that I need is the ability to have a button on each product that takes you to that products relevant website (opening in a new window and a no follow). Is this at all possible? Am I missing something?

I have searched hard for similar plugins, but yours does what I need it to (almost) and clearly its a plugin that receives plenty of support. I just wish I could easily add a “view” button taking the user to an external page within another site.

    Please advise.

Hi, so what you want should be easily achieved using the the link value for each item. SImply set this value to the appropriate webpage link. Use the complete url including http:// if your link will be leaving the current website.

You may alter the link relationship and target in the CataBlog Options Admin Panel under the title tab. You will most likely want to alter your catalog template as well, this is in the same CataBlog Options Admin Panel under the template tab. You will need to replace the %MAIN-IMAGE% token with your own html code that uses the %IMAGE-THUMBNAIL% and %LINK% tokens. Read more about customizing your template and the tokens you may use at the blog

Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions 🙂

Thanks for the very fast response. I’ve seen some plugin forum threads get noi answers in weeks, months and even years, so again thanks very much for the fast and informative response! 😀

I am back in work tomorrow so will go through all the information and see what I can do. This is by far the most complex thing I have ever done before, so it may take me some time to get my head around. Essentially all I want to be able to do is have products listed with a thumbnail, title, description and a ‘was’ and ‘now’ price with a button linking to that product on an external website. That link must be a no follow and target blank.

Is there also anyway to style the content in clear but good looking tables?

In the end I will have a few catalogues with various categories such as light oak, dark oak etc.

Again thanks very much for the help thus far!

    Hi again! 😀

Scratch all what I have asked for, with your advice in this thread I have done what I need to do. Before I mark it as resolved however, I would like the thumbnail to be pulled from another site, rather than have the images stored on my wp site. Is that at all possible?

    Many Thanks

p.s. if its not possible, then maybe a suggestion for a future update – the ability to select an image via url rather than having it self hosted would be great.

yeah this is currently not possible, nor would I recommend using another domain (site) for hosting images as it will significantly increase page load time.
