Plugin causes “critical error” in WordPress (can’t activate it)

    Hi,

    I installed the plugin and it worked fine. After adding some code it caused a ” critical error” and WordPress automatically deactivated it.

    I eliminated it through cPanel, and tried to install and active it again, but I can’t.

    When I click on the Activate button, WordPress shows a notification: “The plugin could not be activated because it caused a fatal error”.

    How do you suggest I fix this?

    Thank you for contacting us and providing feedback on the issue you are experiencing. We’re sorry that you have this issue.

    Your custom code (which you entered on the plugin settings page) is causing a fatal error, and because of this, WordPress does not allow you to activate the plugin to keep your website from crashing.

    Just rename the file called START to STOP. This will stop the execution of your custom code. After this you can activate the plugin. And when you fix your custom code, you can rename the STOP file back to START.
