    Dear Herman,

Thanks for your development. I installed and activated the basic package. Everything looks fine until I switch the page editor from text to visual. Your code simple disappears. I suspected some plugin incompatibility, disabled few that are active, but no change. Does your plugin support other language configuration (actually fr_FR).

Any idea about what might be wrong
    Best regards, William Fracheboud

    Hi William,

Unfortunately this is the intended action of the tiny_MCE editor that comes packaged with core.

Not sure why they would want it to behave like that, but I have spoke with a few core developers regarding the issue. I’ve also tried to work in some code into the plugin that would prevent this from happening (all to no vail).

The good news it, with WordPress 3.9 being released next month, they’ve packaged tinyMCE version 4.0, which is supposed to remedy this issue and prevent any code from being stripped when switching between the text and visual editor.

I know how annoying it is, I’ve actually added tons of icons to a page only to switch and lose everything. Hopefully this new patch will resolve the issue.

Currently, the plugin does not support french translation. This is something I’ve wanted to build into the plugin for a while. I know how to now, and it’s not all that difficult…so you should definitely be seeing 5-20 translations with the next release.

Thanks for using the plugin, and thanks for the kind words Will!

I have wordpress 3.9.1 and it still not working right. Text disappears. I am also using TinyMCE Advanced 4.0.2.Is the temporary solution to use text or visual, don’t switch while on the page, then change pages, come back to that page and use either the text or visual? Or do I need to completely log out of wordpress before accessing that page again? Or the worse case scenario, that I can never utilize visual if I utilize text first?

    Hi, Evan.
I have wordpress 3.9.1 and it still not working.
I’m trying to add an icon but I cant. If I use the text editor and save my page the icon don’t appear at front-end. Can u help?

    Hi fbento,

This is because of the empty tags:
    <div data-icon=”yxz” ></div>

    <div data-icon=”xyz” >Example</div>
That would work, but obviously not intended.

    Hi Guys,

I am aware of the issue with the editor stripping empty HTML tags when toggling between the two editor modes. I am just finishing up, and about to release a new version of my YouTube plugin. Once I get that pushed out, I would really like to loop back around to this plugin and fix a few things including the stripping of tags.

The next version should have a few new features as well as some bugs squashed including this one ( I know it’s a major pain especially when you add tons of icons and then switch by accident only to lose all of your work. It’s happened to me a few times ).

I’m also looking to easily get icons added to menus and a few new features.

Sorry I’ve neglected this plugin over the past few months. I’m working on a premium version of my YouTube plugin to try and make back some cash for the time put into developing these plugins.

    Sorry again!!

    Evan
