[Plugin: Comprehensive Google Map Plugin] Plugin displaying broken file on webpage
-
Hi, can you have a look at this for me and advise.
I have tested the KML file in the viewer you posted a link to in another post and the file worked fine.
Many thanks in advance.

A bit more info you may require, I created the KML file in Google Earth and am using Atahualpa 3.7.3 in WordPress Version 3.3.1
Thanks
Will have a look tonight.
Regards
Can you please paste here the shortcode that was generated? The one that you pasted into your post. I want to see it please.
Regards
Here you go alexander, also I should mention, after reading some other thread, that I had previously deleted another map app.

Also, try to click now on that KML URL in the shortcode, does it take you to Google 404 page? It does take me. In other words, the URL you specified is broken or invalid.
Do you understand what I am trying to say?
Cheers
You actually put there 2 URLs, can you see?
The KML is exactly what I copied from the places dropdown on google earth.
I clicked on the restaurant which was on Google Earth, added it to my places then copied the link and pasted it into the KML box.
Thanks
I have just created a new place marker in G Earth and added a link to their website to it and added it as a new listing in my places. Right clicked on it in my places and got this code for the KML…

Look, what you are trying to paste into the shortcode is not going to work.
It has to be properly formed URL starting with http:// .
The KML field expects a KML file, in other words a URL to a remotely stored KML file, eg.; http://someserver.com/somefile.kml.When you right click to get the KML source, you suppose to save it into a file, not paste it raw into the shortcode. Consider taking your KML source, and making the file and uploading it somewhere like your blog, and then putting that URL Into the shortcode.
I hope this helps
Ahh, I havent been doing any of that, in fact I have not seen that described before.
I’m off to give it a go.
Thanks.
Did you read plugin documentation? It’s on the left hand side in WP admin.
Wasn’t it clear? If it wasn’t , it only means that I have to clarify it to reduce the confusion …Hi, Thanks for your help, I think that some information regarding the use of KML files would be a very useful addition.
One thing I cant fix though is setting the Zoom level I require in the kml. file given by Google earth so that your plugin reads it. I understand that the kml. info overwrites the Zoom control feature, but all I can get is a completely zoomed in map.
Thanks
Hi,
I will refine the docs. From what I know, the zoom for KMLs should be set within the KML itself. But, I have never done it and I am not sure how to do it ATM.
Regards
