[Plugin: Contact Form 7] Shortcode is not rendering form

Trying to get ContactForm 7 to work on a custom theme I made. I pasted the form shortcode into a page (the Visual part, not the HTML/source editor).

When I view the page, I just see the shortcode itself. No form is rendered.

What requirements from a custom template are there for ContactForm 7 to work? My template runs both wp_head() and wp_footer() in the appropriate locations.
