Hey @cjyabraham,
I am forwarding this information to the team and we will look into whether how the Twitter API having issues affects websites with our plugin and we will get back to you here when we have some further information. Do you have any specific information on what error you ran into and what broke the sites in particular?
Many thanks.
Thanks for the response. I don’t see any errors but just long delays in load time during that window when the twitter API was having issues. Here is the New Relic graph showing the long load times of the twitter api call. I myself was asleep at the time, however, people reported that the site was “down” or “loaded intermittently”. Does that help?
Hey @cjyabraham,
Thank you for the additional information – all information is helpful and after we have looked into this a bit further we will get back to you.
Best regards.
Hey @cjyabraham,
Thank you for your patience. We have looked into it and we will add in some safeguards in the next update to the plugin, to ensure that the API going down doesn’t case issues on your website in the future.
Many thanks.
Great. Thanks.
While we wait for your update, do you know if it makes any difference which “Request Method” we set the plugin to? Or are all methods blocking calls?
Hey @cjyabraham,
That is unlikely to change anything here. Since you sent us a support request via our website as well we will send you the updated version earlier than official release and you can see whether it works better in your case. Thank you for your patience.
Many thanks.
Hi team,
Was this resolved yet? It looks like the 1.8 version was released, but it’s not clear in the change log if this was resolved or not.
Hey @iaraujowd,
Yes, a check for this type of issue was added to the plugin. If you have any issues now please send us a support request via our website here.
Many thanks.
