Thanks for the report and sorry you’re dealing with this. A 429 (“Too Many Requests”) at the admin login is almost always coming from an HTTP
layer outside WordPress itself — your host, a security plugin like Wordfence, or Cloudflare/CDN — reacting to a burst of requests that
something is making. Card Oracle’s free version doesn’t make many external calls on its own, but the Freemius SDK it bundles (for plugin
updates and analytics) does ping api.freemius.com periodically. If that endpoint or your host’s rate-limiter is briefly throttling, it can
cascade into a fatal on admin pages and effectively lock you out.

Before reactivating, please send me:

The exact text on the error page (WordPress usually says “There has been a critical error on this website” — but if your hosting panel or a
security plugin is intercepting first, the wording may differ; a screenshot is ideal).
The “critical error” email WordPress should have sent to the admin email address. It contains the stack trace and the actual file/line that
fataled — that’s the most useful piece of information.
Your PHP version (Tools → Site Health → Info → Server) — “newest” can mean 8.3 or 8.4 and they sometimes behave differently.
Your Card Oracle version (1.2.4, 1.2.5, etc. — visible on the Plugins page).
Are you using Cloudflare, Wordfence, or another firewall/security plugin? If yes, please check its logs around the time of the lockout —
they often record rate-limit decisions. To re-enable safely and capture details for me, please connect via FTP/SFTP or your host’s File Manager and add these three lines to
wp-config.php just above the /* That’s all, stop editing! */ line: define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, true );

define( ‘WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY’, false ); Then reactivate Card Oracle, reproduce the error once, and send me the contents of wp-content/debug.log (the relevant section is the last
50–100 lines). That file contains the exact PHP error that’s causing the 429 cascade. Don’t worry — WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY is set to false so
nothing visible changes for visitors. One more thing worth checking: do you have any other plugins that use Freemius for licensing? Common ones include WP Smush, Hummingbird,
Defender, Forminator, BackupBuddy, FooGallery, WP Rocket Free, and many others from WPMU DEV. Freemius coordinates between all such plugins on
your site and runs the newest SDK for all of them — if one of them bundles an older or broken version, you can see fatals in a different
plugin (like Card Oracle) even though the bug is elsewhere. Quick diagnostic test — please:
Keep Card Oracle deactivated for now.
List your active plugins (Plugins → Installed Plugins → screenshot the “Active” list, or copy the names).
If you see any other plugin that has “Pro / Premium” branding or shows an “Affiliate Program” / “Opt-in” prompt, mention it — those usually
use Freemius. If we identify another Freemius-powered plugin, the test is to temporarily deactivate it, then reactivate Card Oracle. If the 429 disappears,
we’ve found the conflict. We can then look at whether the other plugin needs an update, or whether we need to adjust Card Oracle’s Freemius
initialization order.

I already deactivated all plugins and only activated card oracle and critical error reproduced.

I cannot add screenshot of critical error message. maybe you van give me your email? Anyway it says: a critical error happened on this website. Please check your admin email for further instructions. if the problem persistes please go to support forum.

I am not a professional and do not know anything about programming. I checked wp-config.php but could not find /* That’s all, stop editing! * so I did not enter any code.

however, something funny happens. I ran PHP checker and everything comes out with result but scanning wheel keeps turning. I tried second time but it does not come out with result.

Ok, that php issue you first saw is actually only for a Premium file so I removed it. Not sure why it’s just spinning but I will have a look. The PHP Compatibility Checker is 2 years old and is out of date. Can you disable all other plugins and just try enabling Card Oracle? See it if still fails after that.

OK, the PHP checker now functions normally and card oracle is now functional. In the mean time I changed theme. I use himalaya pro and changed to twenty twentyfive, same error occured.
