[Plugin: Crony Cronjob Manager] Usage question

    I think I love this plugin! Just what I’ve been looking for.

    I’ve installed it and created a cronjob. All good. Now, here’s my usage question.

    The WP-Mailinglist plugin provides a script to send latest posts that is triggered by a URL (auth key replaced by XXXXXX):

    http://wgbhalumni.org/?wpmlmethod=docron&auth=XXXXXX

    I can enter this URL in a browser window and receive a confirmation that the e-mails were sent.

    However, when I put the URL into the CRONY “Script to Include” field, no action was triggered.

    Should I put the URL into another field? Should I put wget beforehand?

    There’s likely a restriction with your server actually accessing that url via the way I’m doing. The URL isn’t actually being ‘hit’, as my script is actually using include_once right now. I’ll be switching it soon, but perhaps you can include some simple PHP in the code portion of the job to grab the URL in the way you’re looking to do:

    http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Function_API/wp_remote_get

    That would do it.

    Thank you for the follow-up. I discovered there was, indeed, a server restriction, so I activated an external cron service to hit the URL.

    I look forward to using your plugin on another server.
