NickReese: At the moment, you can assign a common parent to all categories in one CSV file by using the category parent dropdown in the plugin’s UI.
In the future, I might add a more flexible way to assign parents to categories, similar to the syntax for hierarchical taxonomies. I didn’t get much feedback on the plugin’s handling of taxonomies, so I don’t know yet how usable that syntax is in practice.
I am also trying to set a Parent for a PAGE using the CSV. Is there a way to do it?
By the way custom fields just work fine. Is there a way to set a Page Template using custom fields in the CSV format for this plugin?

erachnid: The current version of the plugin does not allow you to set parents for pages or specify page templates.
For those of us that use this as a development tool, those two features would be EXTREMELY handy. I hope you will add them to your next update.
Adding my vote for a parent / child page support. I regularly deploy WP sites in which I create all the page structures and my clients come in behind me and start adding their own content. I’m working on a site right this minute that has 7 parent pages and 40+ child pages. Being able to create those in one fell swoop would be a real blessing! 🙂 Thanks again for a great plug-in though!!!
