[Plugin: Custom More Link] Changing the link color

Hello, thank you for your great plug in.

I want to change the color of the link but I only get the underline part of the font to be in the color that I want (the rest of the link keeps the default color). How do I overwrite that?
Here’s my More link pattern:
<font color=”#FF6600″><u><b>%linktext%</u></b></font>
