[Plugin: Custom Post Templates] Not working with Custom Post Types

    I have been using Custom Post Templates for a very long time (awesome plugin) but I have recently tried to use it on a new site I am working on without success.

    The site uses Custom Post Types (which I am familier with) and I have been unable to get the Custom Post Templates Plugin to work with the new site/themes custom post types.

    I have followed the instructions by the plugin developer, but the template still does not show in the dropdown (and yes it is in the same directory and not a sub-directory). I am willing to pay for assistance in troubleshooting this apparent incompatibility with my current install/theme.

    WordPress 3.3.1
    Theme is a customized Obox Design, Knead
    Have added filter to functions.php
    Have added comment tag to template php
    Have noted that the template is in the main theme directory with index.php
