Is there anyway to pull a content block into a page or post, so that for the client, using WordPress as their CMS, I could just give them access to the Content Blocks area, where they could edit all of, and only the specific areas I have set up?

Pulling it in via a shortcode would be ideal, but any method would be great really!

Excellent idea, I have added the shortcode functionality!

Could you please try version 1.8 and let me know if this works for you?

    That’s brilliant thank you!

But what is the shortcode syntax I need to use?!?!

works perfectly – but can I suggest you add something in the Content Blocks overview that shows the shortcode including the ID for each block?

If you click on the Add Content Block icon in the the Upload/Insert area above the content editor, you can select the content block you would like to use without having to know the ID 🙂

    That is awesome!

    Had one more idea though…

This is now a really useful tool for building a CMS for a client, and it would be great if you could organise the Content Blocks in the overview panel – perhaps you could group them (and have sub-groups)?

You wouldn’t need to use this, but it would be a useful tool to some people including me I’m sure!

That sounds like quite a challenge but I think there might already be some plugins that can help you with this. Maybe the pageMash plugin also works for custom posts? http://ww.wp.xz.cn/extend/plugins/pagemash/

P.s. It would be brilliant if you could rate my plugin in the plugin directory by clicking on the yellow stars on this page: http://ww.wp.xz.cn/extend/plugins/custom-post-widget/

    Thanks!
